LMC offices open for property tax collection on Sunday

Corporation’s chief tax collection officer Ashok Singh said, "The timings of tax collection will be from 10am to 4pm. Property owners will be given 5% concession on the total amount. No discounts will be provided from February 1."

All zonal offices of the Lucknow Municipal Corporation (LMC) will remain open on Sunday for collection of property tax.

According to LMC officials, January 31 will be last day for taxpayers to get a discount of 5% on their property tax amount.

Corporation’s chief tax collection officer Ashok Singh said, “The timings of tax collection will be from 10am to 4pm. Property owners will be given 5% concession on the total amount. No discounts will be provided from February 1.”

Officials said LMC collected Rs 174.08 crore as property tax from April to December this financial year.

The civic body had collected around Rs 172.15 crore during the same period in the last financial year.

The civic body had set the target of Rs 410 crore as property tax collection for FY 2020-21.

Officers to keep tab on civic works

Lucknow Municipal Corporation has appointed eight nodal officers to keep an eye on garbage management, sanitation and illegal encroachments. Each officer has been given one zone to keep a vigil on LMC workers and employees performing their duties. The decision has been taken in view of upcoming third party inspection for Swachh Bharat Survey 2021 in March.
