UltraTech Cement has received orders pertaining to GST from assistant commissioner CGST & Central Excise and joint commissioner – Central Tax, South Kolkata allegedly for ineligible input tax credit transitioned to GST, the company said in a BSE filing.
The first order passed confirming GST demand of Rs 17,60,661, interest as applicable and penalty of Rs 1,76,066 while the second order is for GST demand of Rs. 54,252, interest and penalty of Rs. 20,000.In November 2023, the company had received an order from the Assistant Commissioner, CGST & C. Ex Division 3, Bhavnagar raising demand for GST of Rs 1.14 crore together with interest and equivalent penalty for alleged non-payment of differential GST on royalty of mined limestone,” it had said in the regulatory filing.
Order passed confirming demand for GST Rs. 1,14,87,546 + Interest + Penalty Rs 1,14,87,546 on differential GST @13% (18% less 5%) on royalty on mined limestone.
