The violators have carried out unauthorised construction in the buildings after procuring occupation certificates (OCs) from the department. The action was taken on the basis of seven complaints filed on the CM's window.

The violators have carried out unauthorised construction in the buildings after procuring occupation certificates (OCs) from the department. The action was taken on the basis of seven complaints filed on the CM’s window.

District town planner (enforcement) Manish Yadav said after complaints were forwarded to the department, a team of officials were sent to the sites. They found that illegal construction was carried out in the stilt parking area of two houses, and illegal construction on the second floor of another house. All three houses were sealed by the enforcement team on spot. Similarly, three floors with stilt parking at a residential property and four floors with stilt parking of another residential property in DLF 2 were also sealed for violations.

Dhruv Kumar, a resident of DLF 2, said there have been unauthorised construction in most of the residential buildings in the colony and therefore the department should carry out regular checks and seal the properties of offenders.

Yadav said complaints were received on the CM window regarding illegal construction in houses after procuring occupation certificates which is in violation of Haryana Building Code rules. “The department first issued show cause notices and restoration orders in all cases, but when no satisfactory response was received from the property owners, DTCP’s enforcement team carried out a sealing drive on Thursday” he added.

Apart from this, illegal commercial activity was being conducted in the basement of residential property in South City II, for which the basement was sealed. Also a maintenance office was being run in the parking lot of Aalayas affordable housing society, which was sealed.
