Maan-Mhalunge scheme to be implemented in next six months

On Monday, the PMRDA commissioner reviewed the project and said that work will be put on the fast track. He reviewed the 36-metre road work, which has been proposed from Hinjewadi to Mercedes-Benz International School.

The Pune Metropolitan Region Development’s Maan-Mhalunge town planning scheme would be implemented in the next six months, PMRDA commissioner Rahul Mahiwal said.

The state government is set to approve the draft plan with changes in the flood line regarding 56 plots in the next three months following which road work will commence, added officials. These plots in the flood line area have been given alternative space.

On Monday, the PMRDA commissioner reviewed the project and said that work will be put on the fast track. He reviewed the 36-metre road work, which has been proposed from Hinjewadi to Mercedes-Benz International School.

The PMRDA has allocated Rs100cr for the town planning scheme, said deputy collector Ramdas Jagtap, the coordinator for the project.

The Maan-Mhalunge town planning scheme is modelled on Gujarat’s town planning scheme. The proposed scheme has 5,800 beneficiaries and enables landowners to get back 50% of the developed land in the same area for which the arbitration process was carried out.

“Plots with clear titles have already been handed over to landowners. Those that remain are in the blue line area which, too, will be handed over. Suggestions and objections have been sought regarding the plots till September 9. The government is likely to clear the same in the coming three months after which the arbitration process will be carried out and plots allotted,” said PMRDA deputy collector Ramdas Jagtap.

The total scheme is spread over 250 hectares of land, with 319 plots demarcated in Mhalunge and 32 plots in Mann. Post the final demarcation, the PMRDA will begin infrastructure work.

While the demarcation and handing over of plots will be carried out for earlier plots, the landowners will get developed plots back with proper infrastructure for the area.

The Maan-Mhalunge town planning scheme was showcased as a model town planning scheme in the Magnetic Meet in the state three years ago.

Its foundation stone was laid on November 15, 2018 by Devendra Fadnavis, the current deputy chief minister, who was at that time the chief minister.
