What Is Top-Down Demolition?
In the top-down method, demolition starts at the uppermost floor and progresses downward. The building is not allowed to collapse as a single structure. Instead, individual structural and non-structural components are dismantled according to a predetermined engineering sequence.
A typical sequence is:
Roof → Upper floors → Middle floors → Lower floors → Ground floor → Foundations
