Concrete structures in industrial and infrastructure projects are exposed to moisture ingress, carbonation, chemical attack, abrasion, chloride and sulphate exposure, and ultraviolet radiation. Fosroc Nitocote® PE135 is a single-component, water-based hydrophobic polyester resin coating designed to combine concrete curing with long-term surface protection. The system provides curing performance on early-age concrete while subsequently functioning as a protective coating against carbonation, water ingress, chemical exposure and abrasion.
Multi-Functional Performance in a Single Application
Nitocote® PE135 is designed to serve two functions during the concrete lifecycle. When applied to early-age concrete, it helps control moisture loss and supports cement hydration. After curing, the coating forms a protective membrane over the concrete surface.
This approach can simplify construction sequencing by reducing the need for separate curing and protective coating systems. It can be considered for industrial and infrastructure structures where concrete surfaces require protection from environmental and service-related exposure.
Concrete Curing Capability
Nitocote® PE135 can be applied to concrete as early as 24 hours after placement and is suitable for damp concrete surfaces. This makes it compatible with construction programmes where early-stage surface protection is required.
