Telangana’s Minister for Roads and Buildings, Komatireddy Venkat Reddy, has unveiled a significant road development initiative that includes the construction of 5,555 kilometers of roads utilizing the hybrid annuity model (HAM).
This project, valued at Rs 10,547 crores, is scheduled to commence by the end of the year and will cover 400 roads across 32 packages, representing one of the most substantial infrastructure enhancements in the state.
The HAM model, which reduces government spending in the initial year, is expected to improve the quality and connectivity of roads in Telangana, establishing the state as a national frontrunner in infrastructure.
Minister Venkat Reddy has defended the project’s transparency and cost-effectiveness, referencing its proven success in other states. Additionally, the government is promoting the involvement of small and medium contractors in the tender process by releasing Rs 100 crores in pending bills to facilitate their participation.
