Builders must ensure all new developments have BU nod

He said developers should follow all rules and regulations in their projects. Developers said the state government should simplify the procedures in the revenue and urban development (UD) departments.

Gujarat CM Bhupendra Patel said developers must ensure that all the new developments are legal and have building use (BU) permission. He said developers should follow all rules and regulations in their projects. Speaking at the inauguration of three-day 17th GIHED-CREDAI property show, CM Bhupendra Patel said, “Developers must construct buildings after fulfilling all legal requirements otherwise the government will take action. The state government will listen to issues regarding the revenue and urban development departments and consider simplifying the processes.”

He asked developers and real estate businessmen to fulfil their responsibilities keeping in mind the interests of common people in development plans and construction, while the state government is proceeding systematically for holistic development in all sectors.

He also said that under the Pradhan Mantri Awas scheme, 1.32 crore houses have been built in the country and 10 lakh houses in Gujarat. Bhupendra Patel added that as a result of the development policy of the Prime Minister, Gujarat has become a development role model and is the first choice of foreign investors.

CREDAI AHmedabad president Tejas Joshi said, “The real estate sector makes a significant contribution to GDP and currently the Ahmedabad real estate annual turnover is around Rs 50,000 crore and is growing at an annual rate of 15%. Hope about hosting the Olympics and progress on the Ahmedabad-Mumbai bullet train project will ensure faster growth of the city, as Ahmedabad can become a satellite commercial suburb of Mumbai with the bullet train project. CREDAI is ready to work with the state government on model town planning schemes.”

CREDAI national vice-president Shekhar Patel said, “There is a need to simplify processes in the revenue and urban development departments and CREDAI has prepared a detailed presentation on it.”
