The Jaipur Development Authority (JDA) has revealed its intention to build its inaugural 10-storey residential high-rise, signifying a pivotal change in its housing development strategy. Situated on an unoccupied site in Lalkothi, directly across from the state Police Headquarters, this initiative aims to tackle a significant deficit of government housing in the Malviya Nagar and Lal Kothi regions.
The contemporary complex is set to replace outdated, deteriorating buildings and is projected to accommodate over 250 units, predominantly consisting of three-BHK and four-BHK apartments. Although the primary recipients will be JDA officials and personnel from various government sectors, this project also acts as a prototype for forthcoming high-rise housing initiatives throughout the city.
In addition to residential units, the complex will provide a range of amenities, such as a shopping center, gym, community hall, and indoor sports facilities. A comprehensive project report (DPR) will be developed following the completion of the initial proposal.
This initiative highlights JDA’s dedication to enhancing urban living conditions for government employees while optimizing land use in key locations within Jaipur. “The project, which will occupy land measuring approximately 14,000 sq m, is anticipated to involve an estimated cost of around Rs 200 crore. JDA officials will receive priority in allocation. Should any flats remain unoccupied, they will be offered to other government departments,” stated an official.
