Signature Global has entered into a ₹380-crore memorandum of understanding (MoU) with CECO Hirun, an Indo-Italian joint venture, to deploy advanced earthquake resistance technology in its projects over the next 15 years.

Delhi-NCR is situated in seismic zone-IV. This cutting-edge earthquake-resistance technology, known as Hysteretic Tuned Mass Dampers (HTMDs), is a specialized system aimed at mitigating vibrations in high-rise buildings caused by wind and seismic activity. By regulating building movement, it improves stability and enhances occupant comfort.

Lalit Aggarwal, co-founder and vice chairman of the company, stated, “We will be implementing this technology in 80-100 towers over the next 15 years. This will be applied to all our buildings exceeding 150 meters in height. We anticipate expanding this investment to ₹1,000 crore in the near future.” Agostino Marioni, chairman of CECO Hirun India, remarked, “Incorporating advanced HTMD technology into buildings increases earthquake resilience by minimizing wind sway and seismic effects, while protecting essential interior systems.

We have applied this technology in both new and existing buildings in Rome.” Aggarwal encouraged other developers to adopt similar safety measures in their constructions. “Developers today are not placing enough emphasis on building safety mechanisms. They must implement such technologies.” The company intends to establish a research division consisting of 10 employees by March 2026 to integrate advanced technologies from around the globe into their projects.
