Patel Engineering has obtained two letters of intent (LoIs) for the execution of excavation and related works, along with coal transportation at the Jhiria West Open Cast Project (OCP) situated in Bilaspur, Chhattisgarh for South Eastern Coalfields (SECL).
The contract awarded by Saidax Engineers and Infrastructure amounts to a total of Rs 798.19 crore. The work scope encompasses overburden removal, coal extraction using surface miners, and the loading and transportation of coal.
Furthermore, Patel Engineering will be tasked with providing and maintaining all essential plant and equipment, supplying diesel, and ensuring the availability of skilled labor throughout the project’s duration.
The contract is scheduled to be carried out over a span of nine years, representing a substantial growth in the company’s infrastructure and mining-related activities. The execution period is set for nine years.
