The Mumbai Building Repairs and Reconstruction Board, operating under MHADA, has finalized its annual pre-monsoon assessment of aging and deteriorating cessed structures throughout Mumbai. This year’s evaluation has identified 96 buildings as being extremely hazardous, including two that were also marked as such in the previous year.
Collectively, these 96 buildings accommodate 2,577 residential and 585 non-residential occupants, totaling 3,162 individuals. In light of the need for housing for the 2,577 residential occupants, the board has initiated arrangements for their relocation to transit camps.
The authority has urged residents and tenants of these buildings to fully cooperate with the board’s officers and staff, requesting that they vacate the premises when directed and adhere to all safety guidelines issued for their own protection and that of their families.
