On Wednesday, Dr. Sumita Misra, Haryana’s financial commissioner for revenue and disaster management, announced that approximately 50,000 property registrations have been successfully completed through the state’s paperless registration system, representing a significant milestone in the evolution of revenue practices that have been in place for six decades.
During an unexpected inspection of the Panchkula tehsil office, Dr. Misra revealed that security-embedded paper would soon be implemented for property registration, aimed at enhancing transparency and authenticity in land records.
Furthermore, an auto-mutation facility is expected to be introduced in the near future, which will automatically update revenue records immediately following registration, thereby significantly minimizing delays and eliminating the potential for manual intervention.
Dr. Misra made these statements after assessing the practical operation of the new system and engaging with both staff and citizens who were present for property registration. Expressing her contentment with the operations of the revenue office, the financial commissioner commended the dedication of the officers and staff in effectively executing the new system.
She instructed the revenue officers to provide e-signed copies to applicants immediately upon request, ensuring that they do not need to make repeated visits to the office. She also assured that the feedback gathered from citizens would be reviewed and integrated to enhance the process further.
