Telangana to develop 5,587 km roads under HAM

The government of Telangana has unveiled plans to construct 5,587 kilometers of roads, with an estimated expenditure of Rs 10,986 crore, utilizing the hybrid annuity model (HAM) in the initial phase.

Tenders are anticipated to be issued next month. In a review meeting, Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka directed officials to ensure that every Assembly constituency is represented and that project plans are formulated based on comprehensive traffic surveys.

Roads and Buildings Minister Komatireddy Venkat Reddy highlighted that the development and enhancement of roads will occur over a span of three years in several phases, with the objective of establishing a national standard for road quality.

The initiative encompasses the construction of double-lane roads that connect mandal to district headquarters, as well as four-lane corridors that link districts to Hyderabad. Special Chief Secretary Vikas Raj provided an overview of the proposed routes, timelines, and funding strategies. Finance Secretary M Haritha and senior engineers from the Roads and Buildings department were present at the meeting.

Additionally, the government is prioritizing the repair of roads damaged by floods, with a focus on creating durable, high-quality infrastructure to foster growth and ensure public safety.
