In a bid to make the homebuyers aware of the important provisions of the Real Estate (Regulation and Development) Act, 2016 as well as the rules and regulations made thereunder, the Real Estate Regulatory Authority (RERA), Bihar has come out with a handbook for allottees.
The handbook provides important information like projects which are registered or need to be registered with the RERA, the information which a promoter needs to upload on the webpage of the registered project which is created on the website of the Authority.
The handbook also dwells on the points dealing with the rights and duties of the allottees and it guides them about the provisions using which the aggrieved individuals, who feel cheated after booking or purchasing a flat or plot, may use for filing complaint cases against the erring promoter. An annexure has also been provided in the handbook in which obligations of promoters have been mentioned.
Asked about the purpose of the handbook, RERA Bihar chairman Naveen Verma said, “The Act mandates the RERA to work for awareness generation among stakeholders.”
