Arun Kumar, a 1989 batch Haryana cadre retired IAS officer, has been appointed the chairman of the Gurgaon bench of the Haryana Real Estate Regulatory Authority (H-Rera). Orders in this regard were issued by additional chief secretary (town and country planning) Arun Gupta on Monday evening.
The bench’s first chairman, KK Khandelwal, retired in February this year after completing a five-year term. Kumar, formerly the director general of the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA), was appointed as chief commissioner of the Chandigarh Right to Service Commission by the Union ministry of home affairs in October 2023. He has also served as the Chandigarh deputy commissioner.
Meanwhile, Parneet Singh Sachdev, retired IRS officer and former principal chief commissioner (income tax), will be new chief of H-Rera’s Panchkula bench. The Real Estate (Regulation and Development) Act, 2016, seeks to protect homebuyers as well as to boost investments in the real estate industry. The Act also acts as an adjudicating body for speedy dispute resolution.
