BDA begins allotments of housing project

At the housing project, the Bhubaneswar Development Authority(BDA) is offering 128 units of two BHK apartments for the middle-income group. The BDA has asked the prospective buyers to visit their official website and register to take part in the lottery system for the allotment of the houses.

The Bhubaneswar Development Authority (BDA) has begun the allotment process of houses at one of its housing projects named Daya Enclave it built at K9 B Bhagabanpur, on the outskirts of the city.

At the housing project, the BDA is offering 128 units of two BHK apartments for the middle-income group. The BDA has asked the prospective buyers to visit their official website and register to take part in the lottery system for the allotment of the houses.

According to the procedure defined by the BDA, one has to register at the link provided at their website mentioning all their details such as name, family details, income, whether having any property in the BDA or the municipal corporation area, among others.

One who is interested in buying a housing unit here will have to pay a security deposit of Rs 2 lakh and the rest of the amount in two different instalments. The BDA has two types of apartments here with a set price of Rs 51.6 lakh and Rs 49.6 lakh respectively.

The BDA in the brochure mentioned that the project consists of four residential blocks comprising of 128 two BHK housing apartments and other amenities such as community hall, parking facilities, garden, play area and power back-up facility among others.

“The online registration for the allotment of houses in the project will continue till July 7. We will look at the response of the buyers and allot the houses based on the defined rules. It is one of the best located projects in the city,” BDA vice-chairman Balwant Singh said.

Such a project for the middle-income group by the BDA comes almost after seven years in the city. The last one it had built was in 2016. The BDA had then offered two housing projects for this category named Paikarapur Phase I and Paikarapur Phase II. “A Rs 50-lakh price tag is not affordable. Private developers are offering the same price. The government should cut down the price for people like us, said Debesh Jena,” a college lecturer.
