GNIDA receives 250 applications for 90 industrial plots

The number of applications is likely to reach 360 by Thursday, which is the last date for submission. Later, a draw of lots would take place on December 5, and the plot allotments may generate investments up to Rs 1,000 crore and revenues ranging from Rs 250 to 300 crore for the authority.

The Greater Noida Industrial Development Authority (GNIDA) has received 250 applications for 90 industrial plots on offer under a scheme launched on November 3.

The number of applications is likely to reach 360 by Thursday, which is the last date for submission. Later, a draw of lots would take place on December 5, and the plot allotments may generate investments up to Rs 1,000 crore and revenues ranging from Rs 250 to 300 crore for the authority.

It would also create employment opportunities for 2,500-3,000 people, officials said.

The industrial plots are in sectors Ecotech 1 Extension 1 and Ecotech 6 and range from 450 square metres (sqm) to 40,470 sqm. The allotment of plots, less than 4,000 sqm in size, would be done by a draw of lots. However, for plots sized over 4,000 sqm, GNIDA would conduct interviews. Any non-polluting industry can operate on the land, officials said.

Earlier, the authority had launched a scheme involving 23 industrial plots, during which the public showed similar enthusiasm, with 384 entrepreneurs submitting applications. Out of them, 340 had wanted to make full payment at a go.

“Greater Noida remains the first choice of entrepreneurs in terms of industrial investment. For this reason, all the industrial plot schemes of the authority are successful,” said Narendra Bhooshan, CEO, GNIDA. He added that in the past few years, the authority had improved the business conditions for investors.

“Greater Noida has become one of the best cities in the country in ease of doing business. Investors are constantly demanding land from the authority for setting up industries. Our Udyog cell handles these demands, drawing up industrial plot schemes, periodically,” said Narendra Bhooshan, CEO, GNIDA.

All further details related to the scheme is available on the GNIDA website.
