The state government on Saturday introduced a bill in the assembly to allow redevelopment of apartment complexes with the consent of two-thirds of flat owners.
Introducing the Tamil Nadu Apartment Ownership Bill, 2022, housing minister S Muthusamy said “The new legislation was introduced to safeguard the interest of the apartment owners as well as improve the administration of common areas and facilities.”
Industry experts, apartment owners and builders welcomed the move saying many times one person blocks redevelopment.
