On Tuesday, Chief Minister M K Stalin inaugurated a newly built apartment complex featuring 32 flats in Karur via video conferencing. This project, executed by the Tamil Nadu Urban Habitat Development Board (TNUHDB), is situated in the Velambadi area of Aravakurichi in Karur district and was constructed at a cost of 2.95 crore.
The residential complex spans 0.16.5 hectares and includes a basement along with three floors. Each of the 32 apartments has an area of 400 sqft, comprising a bedroom, living room, kitchen, bathroom, and toilet, with the estimated cost of each unit being 9.23 lakh. During the inauguration ceremony, allotment orders were issued to 30 beneficiaries.
The flats are equipped with essential amenities, including a dedicated groundwater tank, borewell, and motor room to ensure a reliable water supply, managed by the Velambadi village administration.
Furthermore, a septic tank and drainage system have been installed, along with street lighting to enhance the safety and convenience of the residents. District Collector M Thangavel formally presented the allotment orders in the presence of Karur MP S Jothimani and Aravakurichi MLA R Elango, along with other district officials.
