The Economic Offences Wing (EOW) of the city police has apprehended builder Sohail Abdullah Dukka for unlawfully selling flats within a slum redevelopment initiative located in Jogeshwari. This case arises from a complaint lodged by Mohammad Momin, who claimed that Dukka misappropriated crores of rupees while serving as a partner in Unique Developers, the company responsible for executing the “One Jogeshwari” Slum Rehabilitation Authority (SRA) project at Behram Baug, Jogeshwari West.
Dukka is currently incarcerated in connection with another case filed at the MIDC police station. He faces allegations of independently selling approximately 10 flats in the project from 2023 to December 2025 at prices purportedly below market value, while receiving payments into his personal bank account and the account of his proprietary business, Unico Traders.
The complainant asserted that the market value of the flats was nearly Rs. 14.9 crore, whereas around Rs. 10.67 crore was allegedly misappropriated by the accused. Authorities indicated that the redevelopment project comprised several residential towers.
According to the partnership agreement, all revenues from flat sales were mandated to be deposited into designated RERA-linked bank accounts that were to be jointly managed by authorized partners.
