DEMO Available for Global Analytics  Bridge Management Software [GABM]

Demo available for two bridges till 31st of December 2023.

GABM is a bridge management analytics software used for the lifecycle management of bridges by ensuring the safety of bridges and providing priority protocols for remedial interventions. It leverages advanced algorithms to comprehend deterioration mechanisms, evaluate consequences, identify hazard types, compile historical data, and quantify vulnerability factors.

The software enables clients to judiciously choose which bridges on their network are in need of rehabilitation interventions by shifting the focus of deterioration modelling from a judgement-based protocol to a performance-based protocol supported by visual and verifiable imagery.

It addresses;

  • Dependence of the decision making process on engineering judgement
  • Absence of geospatial information about the causes

These are achieved by adaptation of a dynamic performance based decision making process, inclusion of bridge information model and identification of cause of distress.

Advantages of GABM software

– Offline & Versatile:

  • GABM is an internet-free standalone application.
  • Compatible with Android laptops, tablets, and computers.

– Efficient & Cost-efficient:

  • Empowers bridge owners with small inventories.
  • Enables informed decisions while optimizing funds.
  • Addresses key objectives: Deterioration Modeling, Risk Analysis, and Fund Optimization.

– Innovative Technologies:

  • Allows evaluation for the entire life cycle.
  • Considers Symptoms, Causes of Deterioration, and Performance-based analysis.
  • Incorporates IRR assessment [Tangible and Non-Tangible].
  • Enables age-based evaluations.

– Resilience Against Natural Hazards:

  • Offers Risk Assessment Analysis
  • Enhances bridge safety in the face of evolving climate risks.

– Key Innovations:

  1. Transition from symptom-based to cause-based deterioration models for age: 35 > 30% DSL < 60% DSL.

  2. Integration of 3D Modelling and photogrammetry for distress identification.

  3. Real-time data-driven decision-making.

  4. Life-Cycle Cost Analysis (LCCA) for sustainability and economic growth.

  5. Holistic Risk Assessment for Climate Change Resilience.

Updating of GABM software

Global Analytics for Bridge Management [GABM] application has been updated recently. URG launched the integration of Risk assessment for Natural Hazards with Bridge Management. This integration makes GABM the most versatile bridge management system. Deterioration modelling is a function of the Age of bridge. Symptoms alone help us evaluate deterioration models during the early stages of bridge’s life. Post that phase, it is the Cause matrix which accurately describes the deterioration model. For ageing bridges, performance based process which captures the dynamics of deterioration process. GABM offers all three options to ensure Bridges in all age categories are analysed efficiently.

What will GABM provide?

  • Essential functions for deterioration modelling, service life assessment, financial metrics, automated interventions, and decision support.
  • Structural Health Monitoring for assessing balance service life (BSL), absolute service life (ABSL), and median service life (MSL) in ageing bridges.
  • Risk assessment for natural hazards.

Who can use GABM?

GABM can be used by small, micro and macro bridge inventory owners who have to implement Bridge Management, that includes;

  • Consultants
  • Concessionaire of NHAI
  • Repair and rehabilitation contractors
  • Toll Plaza
  • Municipal corporations

A free DEMO of the GABM application is available for two bridges till 31st of December 2023.

  The available demo will cover:

  1. Methods to identify the causes of bridge distress
  2. Assessing the sustainability impacts with Life Cycle Cost Analysis (LCCA).
  3. Evaluation of Risk Assessments for Natural Hazards like earthquakes, floods, cyclones, and landslides.

GABM software can be used for 50 bridges for 10 cycles [10 years] at 1 cycle per year.

Research by UBMS Research Group is ongoing and more advanced functionalities are on the horizon.
