Bobcat has fielded an assortment of new attachments designed for its E145 and E165 large excavators. The lineup includes new trenching and grading buckets, a pin-grabber style hydraulic quick coupler, and thumb attachments of both main pin and progressive-link styles.

Heavy-Duty Trenching Bucket

The new trenching bucket for the Bobcat E145 excavator comes in 24-, 25-, and 42-inch (610-, 635-, and 1,067-millimeter) sizes.

Heavy-Duty Grading Bucket

A higher-capacity grading bucket can be attached with a pin or quick coupler, or used with a thumb. It’s also suitable for finish work, backfilling, and cleaning out ditches, Bobcat says.

Hydraulic Quick Coupler

Bobcat’s new pin-grabber quick coupler is a low-maintenance design with no grease zerks. For safety, the coupler will only release from a curled position.

HT Thumbs (Main Pin)

The new HT thumbs from Bobcat are compatible with 36- and 42-in (914- and 1,067-mm) buckets. A hydraulic cylinder provides 137 degrees of rotation for good versatility in demolition and land-clearing tasks.

Pro-Link Thumbs

For even more range of motion, Bobcat’s new progressive-link thumbs rotate up to 180 degrees. They follow the bucket throughout the entire work cycle, according to the manufacturer. The thumbs are compatible with 36- and 42-in (914- and 1,067-mm) buckets.

Bobcat’s E145 & E165

Bobcat’s 115-horsepower E145 excavator offers excellent cab space, but with a reduced tail swing and maneuverability for confined work areas. The 17.5-ton (16-metric-ton) machine supplies the power to do heavy digging and lifting and the speed for quick cycle times, the company says. The manufacturer also gave the E145 additional torque for uphill slewing and backfilling operations.

Meanwhile, the 19-t (17.4-mt) Bobcat E165 is a 131-hp model with a conventional tail swing. It also features powerful hydraulics and four power modes as well as a power boost button. Like its little brother, the E165 has a pressurized cab, a heated seat, air conditioning, and standard side and rearview cameras. Both Bobcat excavators are Tier 4-compliant.
