Haryana Deputy Chief Minister Dushyant Chautala has directed the officers to explore the feasibility of constructing new airstrips in Nuh and Gurugram districts on Mumbai expressway, as well as in Jind and Kaithal districts for the Delhi-Jammu-Katra expressway. He asked the officers to submit a plan at the earliest.
Presiding over a meeting of departmental officers here on Monday, the deputy chief minister, who also holds the civil aviation portfolio, said that hangars will be built on airstrips in Karnal, Bhiwani, Narnaul and Pinjore. He directed maintenance repair and overhaul at all other airstrips of the state, except in Narnaul.
Plans should be developed for creating a drone-manufacturing base in the state, he added. Dushyant also instructed the officers to provide frequent updates on Hisar airport work in order to accomplish the tasks within stipulated time. Dushyant was apprised of the temporary ATC being established till the construction of new standard ATC.
