On Wednesday, the Jaipur Municipal Corporation (JMC) issued notices to the proprietors of 16 hazardous structures located in the Walled City, instructing them to vacate these buildings within a 24-hour timeframe.
Additionally, the corporation undertook the demolition of unsafe sections of two buildings and temporarily sealed them after relocating the residents. Repair orders were also directed to the owners of nine other buildings.
Officials indicated that personnel from the building construction branch have been assigned to monitor the situation continuously. Seema Chaudhary, the Deputy Commissioner of the Hawa Mahal Amer zone, stated, “These measures are essential to avert any accidents or incidents in the regions of Amer, Brahmapuri, and Gangapol, particularly during heavy rainfall. The corporation has emphasized that non-compliance with the repair directives will lead to further actions against the property owners.”
Actions taken include the temporary sealing of properties such as 1140, Galta Walon Ki Bagichi, 15, located in front of Vijay School on Old Amer Road, 334, Gurudwara Wali Gali on Old Amer Road, 330/9, Shobhag Mahal on Old Amer Road, 1374, situated in front of Kaluram Mawe in Gangapol, Ragro Ka Mohalla in Handipura Amer, and Sitaram Bazaar, located in front of Jyoti Jewellers.
Demolitions were executed at Ojha Ji’s Haveli at Gandhi Chowk and in Meenas Mohalla in Amer. Repair work has been mandated for Munshi Ramdas Ji’s road adjacent to Samod’s Haveli. In the Kishanpol zone, five dilapidated buildings were sealed, and three building owners were instructed to undertake repairs.
