Davanagere leads in distribution of digitised land records

On Wednesday, Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar announced the commencement of a citywide property record (e-khata) campaign, which will begin on July 1, with the objective of enhancing land documentation throughout Bengaluru.

As part of this initiative, a pilot project will be initiated in the constituency of Revenue Minister Krishna Byre Gowda, where 25,000 property records have already been digitized. Shivakumar mentioned that e-khata documents would be provided to citizens at their doorsteps during the month, representing a significant advancement towards property regularization and transparency.

“Bengaluru has approximately 25 lakh properties, yet only 5 lakh owners have uploaded the required documents thus far. The campaign aims to incorporate the remaining 20 lakh properties into the e-khata system,” stated the Deputy CM.

When asked about the progress of B khata regularization, Shivakumar confirmed that the matter had been addressed at the state cabinet level. “We are currently examining the legal considerations. Once these are clarified, a formal announcement will follow,” he added.
