Modernisation of 9 stations under Amrit Bharat

The Central Railway has begun the development of nine stations in the Bhusaval division under the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme (ABSS), officials said on Saturday.

The Central Railway has begun the development of nine stations in the Bhusaval division under the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme (ABSS), officials said on Saturday.

These stations include Shegaon, Badnera, Chalisgaon, Dhule, Murtizapur, Savda, Raver, Manmad, Lakhalgaon, and Deolali. Railways will spend Rs 8–13 crore on each of them. The work is expected to be completed in the next 12 months.

“The works, including the construction of boundary walls at the smaller stations that do not have one, are being taken up on war footing. This serves two important things: first, it protects revenue as the people entering and exiting stations can be checked for valid tickets, and second, it will help cut down on crime rates as the people have to compulsorily use the gates that are manned or under the watchful eyes of the CCTV cameras,” said a senior railway officer .

The other important factor being paid attention to is the toilet blocks.

“The works on the construction of additional toilet blocks and waiting rooms, especially for women, are also being undertaken considering the convenience of the passengers,” the officer said.
