Abhishek Lodha’s Macrotech Developers Ltd has received approval from the Registrar of Companies to rename the company to Lodha Developers Ltd, two months following the resolution of a trademark dispute with the firm owned by his younger brother, House of Abhinandan Lodha.
In a regulatory filing, Macrotech Developers stated, “The Registrar of Companies, Ministry of Corporate Affairs (MCA), has sanctioned the change of the Company’s name from ‘Macrotech Developers Limited’ to ‘Lodha Developers Limited’ effective June 16, 2025.
Macrotech Developers Ltd, led by Abhishek Lodha and known for selling properties under the Lodha brand, has altered its name two months after settling the disagreement with House of Abhinandan Lodha (HoABL), established by his younger brother. The two parties reached a settlement on April 14. Macrotech Developers will retain the use of the ‘Lodha’ brand, while the younger brother will continue to operate under the ‘House of Abhinandan Lodha’ brand, according to the agreements made between the two siblings with parental guidance. Abhishek and Abhinandan will not pursue any claims against one another.
In January, Macrotech Developers initiated legal action in the Bombay High Court against HoABL for trademark infringement, seeking appropriate injunctions, reliefs, and damages. “In a notable development, the Lodha brothers — elder brother Abhishek Lodha and younger brother Abhinandan Lodha — along with their respective companies, have amicably settled all outstanding disputes under the guidance of their parents,” the statement released in April indicated.
According to the agreement, the publicly listed Macrotech Developers Ltd holds ownership and exclusive rights to the brand names ‘Lodha’ and ‘Lodha Group’. Abhinandan Lodha possesses ownership and exclusive rights to the brand name ‘House of Abhinandan Lodha’. The Lodha Group and ‘House of Abhinandan Lodha’ are entirely separate entities, and both have decided to widely communicate this distinction.Macrotech Developers is one of the leading real estate firms in the country, while the HoABL is into the development of residential plots across major cities.
