The Virar police investigating the counterfeit seals racket in which five men were arrested in August for allegedly constructing 55 residential buildings using forged documents, have booked three more builders in a similar case.
Dilip Benvanshi (31) developer of Rudransh Realtors in Virar, his partner Prashant Patil (33), real estate agent Machindra Vanmane (37), home loan services provider Dilip Adhkale (40) and rubber stamp maker Rajesh Naik (54) were arrested in August for allegedly cheating home buyers since 2015.
A total of 115 counterfeit seals of collectors, Vasai Virar Municipal Corporation (VVMC) town planning department, sub-registrar, MMRDA architects, engineers were seized from them.Based on the counterfeit seals, they obtained permission from the RERA for 55 buildings. The VVMC investigations has found more builders having forged documents and constructed buildings.
