Punjab housing and urban development department is soon going to digitise khasra-based master plans, which will enable people to easily identify the status and nature of land, besides check the zoning of land.
Housing and urban development minister Aman Arora on Sunday directed department officials to tie-up with Punjab Remote Sensing Centre (PRSC) team to speed up this project to provide all information pertaining to land.
The initiative will be helpful for people in applying for change of land use (CLU), besides stirring investments by enhancing transparency in record maintenance mechanism, said Arora.
A total 43 masterplans have already been notified. Out of these 43, work on khasra-based digitisation has been initiated for 22 masterplans. Under this project, masterplans are being superimposed on cadastral map.
The cabinet minister asked the PRSC team and the department officials to ensure accuracy should be maintained by using the latest technologies in the project.
