Only 25% of total allocated funds released by centre in 2021-22 for PMAY-G

Due to this, only 9,000 houses were built during the last financial year out of the total target of 3.97 lakh houses, the official added.

Only 25% (Rs 714 crore) of the total allocated funds of Rs 2,858 crore were released by the Centre in 2021-22 for the implementation of Pradhan Mantri Awaas Yojana-Gramin (PMAY-G) in Rajasthan, an official in the rural development department said.

Due to this, only 9,000 houses were built during the last financial year out of the total target of 3.97 lakh houses, the official added.

“We had written several letters to the Central government urging them to release funds for the implementation of PMAY-G in the state. However, they released only 25% of the total allocated funds. Even 25% of the total funds were received on March 25 this year,” said an official of the department.

“The Central government wants the state to complete building houses, but they don’t release funds. How can we complete building the houses under the scheme,” the official asked.

Meanwhile, state’s rural development and panchayati raj minister Ramesh Chand Meena will be on a two-day visit to Dungarpur and Udaipur districts from Monday. He will inspect and review the progress of all rural development schemes during his visit to both the districts.
