Jindal Stainless Hisar plant gets Platinum+ zero waste certification

Jindal Stainless announced that its manufacturing facility in Hisar has been awarded the Zero Waste to Landfill (ZWTL) certification with a Platinum+ rating, having achieved a waste diversion rate of 99.99 percent in FY25.

The certification was verified by Bureau Veritas India Pvt Ltd, which conducted the assessment using a mass balance methodology, as stated by the company. This rating signifies that almost all waste produced at the facility has been recycled, reused, or recovered, with only minimal amounts directed to landfill.

Benchmark for Waste Management The ZWTL certification evaluates the effectiveness of companies in minimizing landfill disposal through measures of reuse, recycling, and recovery. The company noted that the Platinum+ rating is granted to organizations that attain near-total waste diversion. “This certification demonstrates our enduring commitment to integrating operational excellence with environmental stewardship,” remarked Abhyuday Jindal, Managing Director of Jindal Stainless.

Vijay Bindlish, Unit Head of the Hisar plant at Jindal Stainless, stated, “The Platinum+ certification further motivates us to enhance efficiencies and promote environmentally responsible practices throughout our operations.”
