Jaipur architect’s new bus stop for NH wins first prize

Deciding to make uniform bus stops on the National Highways in the entire country, the Centre organised a designing competition for standardisation of the design of bus shelter conducted by NHLML, NHAI and Ministry of Road Transport and Highways.

The Central government has conferred first prize of Rs 10 lakh to Pink City’s young architect Virendra Saini for designing the country’s new bus stop to come up on the National Highways in near future. Union Road Transport and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari has agreed on Instagram that very soon the country will see such modern bus stops.

Deciding to make uniform bus stops on the National Highways in the entire country, the Centre organised a designing competition for standardisation of the design of bus shelter conducted by NHLML, NHAI and Ministry of Road Transport and Highways.

The Council of Architecture under the Government of India selected Virendra’s architectural design with emphasis on stylish and attractive bus stops with a facility of toilets and setting up a cafeteria (tea stall).
