IMC identifies two lakh structures with irregularities

Of these, 1 lakh properties were found to have not been registered in IMC’s record, 39,267 properties have difference in their registered size or construction area that ranges from 2000 sq ft to 5000 sq ft, and 21,571 residential properties were found being used for commercial purposes, said officials.

Indore Municipal Corporation (IMC) has identified around 1.60 lakh property in the city where measurement and registration related irregularities have been found.

These irregularities have been found in an ongoing GIS survey, said officials on Wednesday.

Of these, 1 lakh properties were found to have not been registered in IMC’s record, 39,267 properties have difference in their registered size or construction area that ranges from 2000 sq ft to 5000 sq ft, and 21,571 residential properties were found being used for commercial purposes, said officials.

IMC commissioner Pratibha Pal on Wednesday held a meeting with t revenue department officials and directed them to conduct a survey of all these properties and issue demand notices to their respective owners for registration and payment of property tax accordingly.

“Zonal revenue department officials have been instructed to complete documentation of these properties before September 30,” said the commissioner.

Corporation officials said that a fresh survey will be launched for a survey of property where a difference of 5000 sq ft or more was found during the survey.

“Zonal teams will conduct a physical inspection of each one of these properties, and their respective owners will be issued fresh demand notices accordingly,” they said.
