The Uttar Pradesh Cabinet has approved the construction of a 74.47-km, six-lane greenfield expressway connecting Noida International Airport at Jewar with the Ganga Expressway via Bulandshahr. The project, estimated to cost ₹8,585.51 crore, is expected to strengthen regional connectivity, improve freight movement, and support industrial and urban development across western Uttar Pradesh.
The proposal was cleared during a Cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. The access-controlled expressway has been planned with provisions for future expansion from six to eight lanes, ensuring it can accommodate projected traffic growth over the next three decades.
The new corridor will originate from Bhaipur Brahman in Noida and terminate near Bahapur village in Bulandshahr, where it will connect with the Ganga Expressway. The state government has confirmed that the project will be executed without financial participation from the Central government.
Construction will be undertaken in two phases. The first section will extend from Bhaipur Brahman to Bichaula village in Bulandshahr, while the second phase will continue from Bichaula to Bahapur, completing the link with the Ganga Expressway.
The expressway is expected to significantly improve connectivity between Noida International Airport and major economic corridors across Uttar Pradesh. It will provide a faster route for passenger and cargo traffic while reducing travel time for vehicles moving between the airport, industrial clusters, logistics hubs, and the Ganga Expressway network.
The project is also expected to support the state’s industrial growth strategy by improving access to manufacturing and warehousing zones around Jewar, Noida, Greater Noida, and Bulandshahr. Better road connectivity is likely to encourage new investments in logistics parks, industrial estates, commercial developments, and residential projects along the corridor.
With the operationalisation of Noida International Airport, the state government has been expanding supporting infrastructure to enhance multimodal connectivity. The proposed expressway complements ongoing investments in expressways, freight corridors, and industrial townships aimed at strengthening Uttar Pradesh’s position as a logistics and manufacturing destination.
Urban planners and industry observers believe the project will not only improve transportation efficiency but also stimulate economic activity by creating new opportunities for businesses, real estate development, and employment in western Uttar Pradesh.
Once completed, the expressway will become an important strategic link between the upcoming international airport and one of the state’s flagship expressway networks, improving regional mobility and supporting long-term infrastructure-led economic growth.
