New Delhi Municipal Council has demarcated 15 sites and uploaded their locations on its website to help people dispose of their construction and demolition (C&D) waste conveniently.
The 15 sites are at Shivaji Stadium Bus Terminal, Kali Bari Marg, Udyan Marg, Church Lane, Vakil Lane, Kaka Nagar, UPSC Lane, Lodhi Colony, BK Dutt Colony, Niti Bagh, Nehru Park Service Centre, Sarojini Nagar, Moti Bagh Barat Ghar, West Kidwai Nagar and Tilak Lane.
If any person is found dumping C&D malba at a public place, he/she would be penalised with an amount of Rs 5000, said NDMC vice-chairman Satish Upadhyay. “To avoid the challan, it is better to either use these sites or go for an ‘on-demand’ facility, which is available against payment of money,” Upadhyay said.
People must be aware of the importance of dumping C&D waste properly, he added.
