MEIL Awarded Shirdi Airport’s New Terminal Contract

Megha Engineering and Infrastructures Ltd. (MEIL) was recently awarded an EPC contract to construct Shirdi Airport’s new terminal building by Maharashtra Airport Development Company (MADC).

Shirdi Airport’s 55,000 sqm new passenger terminal and supporting infrastructure in the future will be able to handle 1200 passengers per hour (600 arriving & 600 departing) – four times the current number. It is currently the 4th busiest airport in Maharashtra after Mumbai (BOM), Pune (PNQ) and Nagpur (NAG).

MADC had invited RFQ applications for the terminal’s civil construction work in March 2023 with a Rs. 527 crore estimate and 2 year completion deadline. They received 3 applications in May 2023. MADC completed evaluation in October 2023 and invited RfP price or financial bids from 2 firms – IRCON International Ltd. and Megha Engineering and Infrastructures Ltd. (MEIL).

MEIL placed the lowest bid to clinch the contract. I don’t have bid values or the final contract value for this tender – if someone has more information, then leave a comment below or shoot me a message via the Contact page. I’d like to add it in here for record keeping.
