After MahaRera issued warrants to recover a sum of around Rs 36 lakh, the Karjat Tehsildar has put on auction two flats of a Karjat-based developer who failed to pay Rs 36 lakh as compensation to a homebuyer.
In May 2022, the MahaRera had ordered Montang Infrastructure of Karjat to pay a sum of Rs 36 lakh as compensation to a complainant. However, as the developer failed to pay the money to the complainant, MahaRera issued a warrant to the Raigad collectorate for recovery of the amount.
Accordingly, the Karjat tehsildar attached two flats, measuring 27 and 28 square meters, and put them on auction, which will be held at the Kasheli Gram Panchayat office on August 22.
MahaRera has so far issued 104 warrants for recovering about Rs 21 crore from developers of 42 projects in Raigad district. So far, MahaRera has managed to recover Rs 6.72 crore with regard to 52 of these warrants.
