Greater Noida ties up with ITC for deliveries in housing societies

Staff distributing the items will be given IDs. The supplies will be dropped of at the society gate or common area and the money collected there. The RWAs and AOAs will distribute the items to families.

The Greater Noida Industrial Development Authority (GNIDA) has engaged ITC to supply daily necessities to residents during the lockdown, from Wednesday.

Only officebearers of RWAs and AOAs are authorised to place orders. “Each society will share the list of items on a letterhead. Credentials will be verified and rationing of items will be done in keeping with the number of families. We are working with ITC executives,” said an official involved in the process. The company will provide flour, spices, rice, pulses, juice, sanitisers, napkins and oil, among other essential items.

“Residents can expect delivery within 24 hours of placing the order,” Narendra Bhooshan, GNIDA chief executive officer, said. A helpline will be operational, 83778-37740 on WhatsApp. GNIDA is also coordinating with Mother Dairy to ensure supply of milk.

Nodal officers for Covid-19: To enforce the lockdown and ensure sanitisation, all three authorities in the district have appointed nodal officers. YEIDA has divided the 96 villages under its jurisdiction into eight zones and appointed nodal officers for each. NOIDA has deputed nine officials, including two additional chief executive officials, five officials on special duties and two general managers to monitor workers deputed in the lockdown. GNIDA has also deputed eight senior officials to oversee health and urban services teams. Control rooms have been established in all three places.
