DDA to offer residential plots for auction in south Delhi

The Delhi Development Authority (DDA) has formulated its plan to provide residential plots in key areas during its upcoming auction scheme. Having primarily concentrated on flatted development until now, the authority has recently initiated the process of hiring a specialized firm to delineate 118 plots in D6 Vasant Kunj, located in south Delhi.

DDA has released a notice to invite tenders for the selection of a qualified agency responsible for the demarcation, as well as for the development of adjacent roads and essential services, including stormwater drainage and the installation of pipelines for sewage and water supply, as stated by an official.

The objective is to prepare the site for the e-auction, he remarked. Additionally, the authority has pinpointed locations for the establishment of surface parking, which will serve the Ganga, Yamuna, Narmada, and Saraswati blocks of the Sector D6 Vasant Kunj Mega Housing project.

DDA developed these housing societies around the year 2010. “There has been a significant demand for adequate parking facilities. This initiative will benefit the residents of 1,904 flats by alleviating parking challenges. Conversely, the plotted development will cater to the public or buyers who prefer such options,” the official noted.

The Delhi Development Authority has set a timeline of 365 days for the completion of these tasks following the award of the contract. “The maximum duration permitted for planning and design, including approval from the relevant authority, will be three months, while the timeframe allocated for the actual execution of the work is nine months post-allotment of the contract,” the official explained.

The responsibilities encompass the planning and design of services such as drainage systems, sewage management, water supply, rainwater harvesting, and obtaining the necessary approvals from the local civic authority. “The preparation and submission of completion plans for all aforementioned services will be executed in accordance with the directives of the engineer-in-charge,” as stated in the project plan.

The tasks also involve the provision and installation of factory-made paver blocks in footpaths, parks, and lawns; constructing driveways with the required strength, thickness, and dimensions at various locations; connecting drainage or sewer lines to existing manholes; and the removal of construction debris, dismantled materials, or waste from sites using mechanical methods, including loading, transporting, and dumping, among others.

Furthermore, according to the tender invitation notice, the total project cost, estimated at approximately Rs 7.5 crore, will be carried out following the guidelines set forth by the Central Public Works Department, while also adhering to the regulations established by the National Green Tribunal.

The development project proposals must ensure minimal tree removal, as highlighted in the notice. “All alternative proposals must also be evaluated and documented. No trees should be removed or relocated in the areas designated for development projects by any field personnel, unless formal and final authorization is obtained from the forest department,” the notice stressed.
