Cidco offers inclusive housing scheme in NAINA region

​As many as 171 tenements will be made available under the scheme. While 164 tenements will be on offer for LIG, the remaining 7 apartments have been reserved for EWS.

In view of the festive season, the City and Industrial Development Corporation (CIDCO) has introduced a new housing scheme for the Economically Weaker Section (EWS) and Low Income Group (LIG) in the Navi Mumbai Airport Influence Notified Area (NAINA).As many as 171 tenements will be made available under the scheme.

While 164 tenements will be on offer for LIG, the remaining 7 apartments have been reserved for EWS.According to Cidco, this is for the first time, the NAINA region offers affordable homes for LIG and EWS. Under the Development Control and Promotion Regulations (DCPR) of the NAINA project, plots measuring 4, 000 square meter and above has a provision to develop houses belonging to EWS and LIG.

They will be constructed under the Inclusive Housing Scheme (IHS). Accordingly, 20% of the total area of the plot has been made available in the NAINA project region through private developers for tenements for EWS and LIG. “According to the said provision, 7 developers have submitted the information of the tenements available under the Inclusive Housing Scheme to Cidco after receiving the occupancy certificate for the respective project.

Cidco is facilitating the selection of eligible candidates for such tenements by conducting a lottery. After the draw, the list of names of eligible candidates will be recommended to the concerned developers by Cidco,” said a Cidco official. Online applications have been invited from the interested applicants who want to participate in the scheme and after the verification of the documents submitted by the applicants, their eligibility for the draw will be decided. Interested applicants can participate in the housing scheme by visiting the website lottery.cidcoindia.com.

Similarly, information about the scheme will also be made available through the official social media accounts of Cidco. Online registration for the scheme will start on September 21 which will continue till September 29. The online applications will be processed from September 29 till October 18. Online payment will start on September 29 and will continue till October 19.

The draft list of the accepted applicants for the lottery draw will be published on November 2 whereas the final list of the accepted applicants will be published on November 4. The computerized lottery draw for the scheme will be conducted on November 8 at Cidco Bhavan. “It’s a good concept for the development of NAINA region as the airport work is in full swing,” said Rajesh Prajapati, founder president of MCHI-CREDAI, Raigad Unit.

“The only responsibility of Cidco is to select the eligible applicants by lottery draw for the available tenements under the Inclusive Scheme and send the list of the eligible applicants to the concerned developer.

All other subsequent proceedings such as–recovering the full amount of the tenement, issuance of NOC to the successful candidate for raising the home loan, execution of the agreement for a tenement with the applicant, registration of the agreement with the office of the sub-registrar, formation of a co-operative housing society, clarifying the doubts of the applicants if any, etc. are to be handled by the concerned developer,” said a Cidco official.
