Chhattisgarh govt announces new reforms in land registration process

On Saturday, Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai unveiled ten new reforms aimed at simplifying the land registration process within the registry and revenue departments. This initiative is designed to enhance transparency and reduce complications in land transactions.

The reforms are intended to improve system efficiency and safeguard individuals against fraudulent activities. CM Sai informed reporters, ‘We have introduced ten new reforms in the land registration process… Previously, individuals faced significant challenges, but now the enrollment will occur simultaneously with the registry.

No fraudulent individuals will be able to sell land, as both buyers and sellers will be connected through Aadhaar.’ A notable aspect of this new system is the integration of Aadhaar for both parties to prevent illegal land sales by impersonators.

Additionally, on Thursday, CM Sai engaged with ‘victims of naxalism,’ individuals who have suffered injuries due to blasts. The Chief Minister noted that these individuals have requested the continuation of the ongoing anti-naxal operation in the Karragutta Hills, located on the border of Chhattisgarh and Telangana. He asserted that several ‘institutions’ are advocating for the cessation of these operations. ‘The victims of Naxalism from various regions, including Sukma, Bijapur, Kanker, and others, who have been injured or lost limbs, have come to meet me today. Some have lost their eyesight or legs. They are urging that the current Naxal operation persists in the Karragutta Hills,’ Chief Minister Sai stated in Raipur.

He further claimed that the ‘institutions’ attempting to halt the naxal operation have not engaged with the injured victims, asserting, ‘Many institutions and individuals wish to terminate this operation. However, today, numerous innocent people, affected by naxalism, have come forward. These victims have suffered due to Naxalism, and those advocating for the operation’s cessation have not met with them.’
