CRDA to sell 415 plots in Guntur, NTR districts

About 415 residential and commercial plots will be auctioned shortly. Interestingly, the CRDA has decided to collect registration/stamp duty only for 60 per cent of the total cost as 40 per cent of the cost has been termed as development cost.

Capital Region Development Authority (CRDA) has readied about four townships in Guntur and NTR districts for sale of plots to the commoners.

About 415 residential and commercial plots will be auctioned shortly. Interestingly, the CRDA has decided to collect registration/stamp duty only for 60 per cent of the total cost as 40 per cent of the cost has been termed as development cost. In addition, the buyers could also pay the total amount in instalments within a year of purchase.

Chief minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy had directed all the urban development authorities and municipal bodies to ready the layouts close to the cities and towns and bring down the prices of house sites to provide relief to the commoners.

He wanted the urban development authorities and civic bodies to create required infrastructure in the designated layouts so that the cities and towns could expand to the outskirts helping horizontal growth of urban areas. This would not only decongest the existing cities and towns but also help commoners get own properties at reasonably low prices.

“The development of housing layouts by the civic bodies and urban development authorities will also help bring down the exploitation by the private real-estate developers and also help commoners get litigation free plots,” said a senior official of municipal administration.

CRDA readied townships in four different areas-Payakapuram (Vijayawada City), Amaravati township in Mangalagiri-Tadepalli corporation, Chenchupet (Tenali) and Ibrahimpatnam truck terminal.

“We will accept the applications through online till October 31. We will go for auction of the plots depending on the total applications received,” said Vivek Yadav, CRDA commissioner.

All the plots will be put under hammer in 18 lots. He explained that the plots would be sold only through e-auction system.
