PMRDA commences e-registration of PMAY flats

Aiming to boost e-registration of flats from developer’s office training was given to builders and software was shared so that developers could carry out registration of new flats from its own offices.

The Pune Metropolitan Region Development Authority (PMRDA) has become the first local authority to carry out e-registration of Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY) flats from its office with the help of the state property registration department.

Last week, the process commenced and nearly 100 documents have been e-registered, PMRDA authorities told TOI on Saturday.

Aiming to boost e-registration of flats from developer’s office training was given to builders and software was shared so that developers could carry out registration of new flats from its own offices.

A total of 179 developers are carrying out e-registration of first-sale flats from their own offices. While the last year 1,812 documents were e-registered, this year in the first three months, over 1000 documents have been registered, registration department officials said.

The e-registration process for flats in the housing scheme was carried out by PMRDA’s Nigdi office.

PMRDA is executing the PMAY scheme with a total of 4,883 flats, including 3,317 flats for the economically weaker section and 1,566 flats for the low-income group. The flats in the housing project have been sold by lottery and are being executed through the e-registration process.

“PMRDA is among the first local authority to execute this process from the office. The beneficiary will not have to visit the sub-registrar office thus reducing footfall at the registration office and making it an easy and convenient process,” the officer from PMRDA said.

Beneficiaries are required to pay all types of charges like the last instalment of the house sale price, late fee, stamp duty, society registration fee, maintenance charges, etc required for registration.

Fees must be paid at least four days before the registration schedule, the directives of the PMRDA stated.

Officials said that the process had commenced and it was expected that 4,000 beneficiaries would benefit from this facility.

Beneficiaries are expected to bring their Aadhaar card, PAN card, and mobile number with a link to an Aadhaar card for OTP while coming for registration.

“We are hoping to complete the process by April end,’’ the official said.

After the registration process, the society registration process will be done, he said.
