HMDA to sell 38 land parcels on January 18

The Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority (HMDA) is expecting to garner 2,000 crore by auctioning 38 land parcels on January 18.

After failing to sell Rajiv Swagruha flats at Bandlaguda and Pocharam to developers, the state government is gearing up to sell land parcels to developers and societies in and around the city.

The Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority (HMDA) is expecting to garner 2,000 crore by auctioning 38 land parcels on January 18.

HMDA officials said the parcels in Nallagandla, Pupp-alguda, Manchirevula, Bairagiguda, Kokapet, Chandanagar, Darga Hussaini, Peeramcheru in Rangareddy, Ameenpur, Isnapur, Patelguda and Sultanpur in Sangareddy and Bowrampet, Bachupally, Suraram, Moosapet and Korremula in Medchal district will be auctioned. The land parcels measure between 302 square yards and 9,680 square yards.

Hoping for an overwhelming response, the government has fixed 1.5 lakh per square yard upset price for Nallagandla land parcels, 1.1 lakh for Kokapet land and 60,000 in Puppalguda. The government has fixed 70,000 per sqaure yard in Ameenpur, Patelguda and Moosapet. The lowest upset price is 10,000 per square yard in Isnapur.

Officials said they were expecting a good response to plots in Korremula near Ghatkesar. “Developers are the target as they can construct apartments and residential complexes. Corporate companies can construct their offices. This is not the first time that larger land parcels have been sold to the companies. In Kokapet, corporate firms and developers have purchased acres earlier ,” an official said.

Admitting that there was no response for Swagruha flats, the official said the flats have already been built. “Secondly, western part is always in demand,” he added.
