Chennai Metro Rail ridership touched 63 lakh in November, which is nearly 150% more than the patronage registered in January when 25 lakh passengers used the metro trains for their daily commute. On an average, two lakh people travelled daily last month.
In a release, CMRL said nearly 2.5 lakh people travelled on November 7. After January, the patronage doubled in June when 53 lakh people used the metro trains.
In November, more than 40 lakh passengers travelled using smartcards while 18 lakh passengers used QR code tickets.
