Rajasthan CM announces special campaign for issuing land deeds

Officials have been directed to reach out to the doorsteps of families/households who have not applied for their land deeds. The announcement was made during the review meeting of the campaign with DMs at his residence here on Thursday.

Chief minister Ashok Gehlot has announced a special campaign to expedite allotment of land deeds under Prashashan Saharo Ke Sang campaign from Thursday.

Officials have been directed to reach out to the doorsteps of families/households who have not applied for their land deeds. The announcement was made during the review meeting of the campaign with DMs at his residence here on Thursday.

“The government has given a lot of concessions in the regulation of houses so that maximum leases can be given in ward-wise camps. For the first time, in this drive, a discount of about 85 per cent has been given from the earlier rates for issuance of leases. During the campaign, the administration has to conduct a door-to-door survey of families deprived of getting leases based on the voter list,” said Gehlot, while adding that every district administration has held two-day camps at public places in each ward.

“The DMs have to visit the civic bodies once a week and inspect these camps. Also, the divisional commissioners have to monitor it. The DMs have to transfer the pasture land to local bodies so that leases can be issued to residents,” he said.

Gehlot said local bodies should get their revenue records updated at the earliest so that there is no hindrance in the distribution of leases. Expressing his concern for regulating the kutcha settlements, he said that government will regulate the kutcha settlements first ad will provide providing basic amenities.
