About Conference
The government has already committed to building 20 million affordable homes and 98 smart cities by 2022. India is also going through rapid urbanisation which cannot be met through conventional construction, and hence the adoption of modern technology is the way forward. There is a demand for technology that enables the fast construction of buildings in a short period of time. Precast construction technology reduces the problems of conventional construction, uncertainty of weather, shortage of workforce, lack of uniformity in strength and durability, availability of material, etc.
The key driving factors behind precast concrete are new residential and commercial space, smart cities, the demand for low-maintenance projects, and project completion on time. Furthermore, growing interest in sustainable construction methods, as well as increased reliance on modern construction techniques, are expected to make significant contributions to precast construction.
Rising inclination towards sustainable construction methods along with shorter project timelines and reduced cost in the construction have made significant contributions towards increasing demand for precast construction. In response to this growing trend, ICI Mumbai Centre is hosting a conference on “Precast Technologies for Sustainable Construction” on 11th & 12th May 2023.
