The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has issued a tender for the development of a six-lane, access-controlled greenfield highway in Maharashtra. Covering the distance from Ahilyanagar to Hasapur, this contract is referred to as the Ahilyanagar Bypass Package 2.

With an estimated budget of Rs 9,030.38 crore, the project will be carried out on a build-operate-transfer (BOT Toll) model. The extensive work scope encompasses the creation of new pavements, major and minor bridges, culverts, and interchanges.

In addition to the greenfield construction, the contract also includes the operation and maintenance of several existing highway segments along NH-160, NH-61, NH-561A, NH-65, and NH-150E, linking important areas such as Walunj, Tembhurni, Solapur, and Akkalkot.

This all-encompassing infrastructure project is designed to improve transit across Maharashtra by increasing road capacity and ensuring the long-term upkeep of essential corridors. The construction phase is required to be completed within 36 months, with the deadline for bid submissions set for 08 July, 2026.
