Tamil Nadu CM inaugurated 30 residential units for Sri Lankan camps

​These were part of 1,591 residential units constructed at a cost of Rs 79.7 crore in Sri Lankan refugee camps in 19 districts in the state which he inaugurated.

Chief minister M K Stalin inaugurated 30 residential units each constructed at a cost of more than Rs 3 crore for Sri Lankan Tamils staying at camps in Vazhavanthankottai in Trichy and Thiruvathavur in Madurai through video conferencing from Vellore on Sunday.

These were part of 1,591 residential units constructed at a cost of Rs 79.7 crore in Sri Lankan refugee camps in 19 districts in the state which he inaugurated.

The 30 residential units in Trichy had proper tar roads, paver block walkways and drinking water taps. Trichy district collector M Pradeep Kumar and Madurai collector M S Sangeetha and other officials were present at the respective functions.

Household utensils were also given away to beneficiaries. As many as 347 houses were opened across seven rehabilitation camps in various southern districts.
